Zidansek, champion in Lausanne

The Slovenian Tamara Zidansek was the first favorite of the Lausanne tennis tournament and, after defeating the French Clara Burel 4-6, 7-6 (5) and 6-1, she won the first title of her career.

Zidansek, 50 in the world, retaliated for the setback conceded months ago in Bogotá, his first final, when he fell to the Colombian María Osorio.

The Slovenian tennis player, who became a semifinalist at the last Roland Garros, had to turn around the advantage achieved in the first set by Burel, who was playing her first final and who had a better start.

Zidansek improved and scored the tiebreaker to take the match to the third set, where he underlined his superiority after two hours and seven minutes of play.
