The rain forces Q1 to stop with a red flag

The rain that falls on the circuit Istanbul Park, headquarters of Turkish Grand Prix, the fourteenth of Formula One World Cup, has forced the qualifying session to stop with a red flag with almost seven minutes to go to the end of its first round (Q1).

At the time of the break, Frenchman Esteban Ocon set the provisional best time, covering the 5,340 meters of the Turkish track in two minutes, six seconds and 115 thousandths, 886 less than the Finn Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes).

The safety car took to the track to assess if the session can be resumed later this Saturday or if the main timed session will be completed this Sunday, before the race.
