The last dance of Vassilis Spanoulis: he returns with Greece at the age of 39 to play the pre-Olympic tournament

Greek basketball legend Vassilis Spanoulis will return to play a match with his national team almost six years later having retired from the national team of his country. The 39-year-old guard will once again compete with the Helena team as a “last dance” in the pre-Olympic qualifying tournament for the Tokyo Olympics.

The Olympiacos player has entered the final list of the coach Rick Pitino, who has left out Tyler Dorsey and Kosta Koufos of the list. Antetokounmpo brothers, Giannis and Thanassis, are included in the coach’s initial plan, although their presence will depend on the progress of the Milwaukee Bucks in these playoffs of the American league.

Spanoulis has won the World Cup silver medal in 2006, European gold in 2005 and continental bronze in 2009. An Olympic medal would be the perfect closing circle for the Greek star.
