The Castell de Peralada Festival has presented today, from the Peralada gardens, the 35th edition of the Girona festival with the desire to reconnect with the public this summer. A face-to-face reunion and complying with all security measures and with an approximate capacity of 70%, which will take place between July 16 and August 1. Isabel Suqué Mateu, president of the Castell de Peralada Foundation, explained that this year’s edition will be dedicated to her father, Arturo Suqué i Puig, who died on April 30,
The vital and spectacular Ballet for Life of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne opens an intense edition, which features six of the best voices on the international lyrical scene with Sondra Radvanovsky, Lise Davidsen, Jonas Kaufmann, Javier Camarena, Carlos Álvarez and Benjamin Bernheim.
“Peralada is a commitment to the artists and the public, it is a space where the arts converge, and it is also the scene where emotions live,” said Oriol Aguilà, director of the Castell de Peralada Festival, who also added that “we We meet again with a face-to-face audience after a long wait and we do so surrounded by great friends of the house, great artists and ambassadors of our festival in an artistically ambitious call, committed to the best dance, creativity, opera, voices of the most important lyric of the moment, in a commitment also to home artists and with international projection within the framework of a safe and responsible festival ”.
The Castell de Peralada Festival, organized by the Fundació Castell de Peralada, will be dedicated to Arturo Suqué on its 35th anniversary. “As you know, my parents were the promoters of this festival that was born in 1987. From day one, summer after summer, they turned Peralada into a cultural, social and business meeting place thanks to their dedication for more than 30 years taking care of every detail of this event. The Festival is an unforgettable legacy that my brothers and I face with responsibility and with deep gratitude ”, said Isabel Suqué. The president of the Foundation also thanked the complicity of the “artist friends” for wanting to be part of “this celebration” such as “Sondra Radvanovsky, Jonas Kaufmann or the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, among others” in an edition in which the usual stage of the Festival, the Parque del Castillo Auditorium, once again hosts large-scale productions and dance companies where the stable bases of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Teatro Real also stand out, along with first lyric swords.
Tickets for the XXXV edition will go on sale on May 26 from 10:00 a.m. at www.festivalperalada.com
