The Mexican pilot Sergio perez regretted his mistake in the last corner of the Enzo e Dino Ferrari racetrack in Imola (Italy), which prevented him from achieving ‘pole’ in the Grand Prix of the Formula One Emilia Romagna.
“I didn’t expect to be second today”, recognized the ‘Czech’ after completing the best qualifying session of his career. “Yesterday I made a mistake and complicated the weekend for the team, but we have been able to come back and show this progress,” he celebrated.
The Mexican stressed the importance of being second on the grid, although he considered that he could have snatched the first place from the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) for not having made a mistake in the last corner.
“Tomorrow is what matters and anything can happen. We are in a different strategy than Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen (his partner at Red Bull, who will start third). It will be interesing. The important thing will be to score and accumulate knowledge, “he said.
