Ruibal: ‘There are nine finals and we will go for it all’

Aitor
Ruibal It has been one of the revelations of the Betic team this season. Despite the fact that last summer he was on the list of candidates to go back on loan – he was previously on loan at Cartagena, Majadahonda and Leganés, this one in First – the Catalan, trained in the Cornellá and L’Hospitalet quarry , has managed to win a starting position in the team, unseating nothing less than a legend like Joaquín. “I was at the beginning between whether I left or stayed, the preseason was good and they decided to continue here, in the end with work and humility and taking advantage of opportunities I am playing,” says Ruibal, in statements to Cope.

Aitor Ruibal admits that playing for Betis is “complicated in all positions, there is pressure at Betis and they are looking to enter Europe. I try to defend the shirt and give everything I have, if it is not enough I am sorry but I try to do it ”. And regarding the objective of putting Betis back into European competition, he points out that “of course it can be achieved, if we weren’t psyched up and we didn’t believe it would be a drag, we’re going for it, there are nine finals and we must get the maximum possible points.”

The problem of Borja Iglesias

Despite the fact that his emergence has left Joaquín on the bench, the Catalan winger acknowledges that the portuense “helps me a lot, gives me advice and I am very grateful to him”. Ruibal also referred to the good time that Borja Iglesias is going through and the problems he has these days to be able to train normally, which makes him a doubt for the clash against Atlético: “Borja is now in a very good moment. The blow is what it is, it has six staples, the problem is not the staples but the inflammation of the quadriceps, let’s see how it evolves ”.

Ruibal only has one more year on his contract, until June 2022, so he will soon have to sit down to negotiate his renewal: “I am very calm, I am focused on the game, that is taken by my agents. I have no idea on that subject, I prefer to focus on the games and get into Europe.
