Rublev on his loss to Nadal: ‘I haven’t played much against the best’

Andrey Rublev, victim of Rafael Nadal this Sunday at the ATP Finals, he assured at a press conference that he does not have much experience in this kind of game and that the more games he plays against the best, the better he will do.

The Russian, who fell 6-3, 6-4 to Nadal in his debut in the ATP Finals, blamed the defeat on lack of experience, since he had only played once against the Balearic, in 2017, one against Roger Federer and none against Novak Djokovic.

“I would say that I have not played much against the best,” Rublev replied when asked at a press conference about the cause of the defeat.

“It was my second time against him. I only have three games against the top 3 and I don’t have much experience. The more I play against them the better I will do ”, he added.

Regarding the match itself, Rublev assured that he relaxed more after the break in favor of Nadal in the second set and that from then on he began to play much better, but “it was too late.”
