The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, has visited the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, taking advantage of his stay in Seville for the preparations for the UEFA Nations Cup matches to be played at the La Cartuja stadium. The head of the federation, received by the president of Sevilla, José Castro, and his vice-president, José María del Nido Carrasco, gave the Andalusian club an exact replica of the trophy of the President of the Republic Cup, which raised the whole Sevilla player in the grand final played in Chamartín against CE Sabadell in 1935 (3-0 with two goals from Guillermo Campanal and one from Bracero), being the first official national title won by Sevilla in its history.
The visit was due to the RFEF’s own commitment to Sevilla, prior to the pandemic, to deliver to the club an exact replica of the President of the Republic’s Cup trophy. It should be remembered that since March the original trophy, temporarily loaned by the Federation itself, was exhibited at the Sevilla FC Stadium Tour
Rubiales, who was accompanied by the president of the Royal Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF), Pablo Lozano, took the opportunity to visit the Sánchez Pizjuán museum, attending to the explanations of the members of the history area of the club Carlos Romero and Javier Tarentí, ending with a family photo with both the President of the Republic Cup and the six trophies of the Europa League won by the Nervionense team.
