Reus: ‘We had more to offer’

Marco Reus, captain of Borussia Dortmund, said after Pep Guardiola’s elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester City that “it’s a shame, because we have the feeling that we had more to offer.”

Reus told the Sky channel that “we are all very sad, we dreamed of the semifinal and we saw it as possible, but in the end it could not be”. It was precisely the Borussia Dortmund captain who scored the goal that momentarily leveled the first leg, which ended 2-1 at the end. This Wednesday Guardiola’s men beat Dortmund again, in this case 1-2.

Borussia Dortmund has a Champions League in their record, 1996-97, and was runner-up in 2012-13, when they lost the final with their great rival in German football, Bayern, which this edition was eliminated by PSG on last Tuesday (0-1 for the Munich, who lost 2-3 in the first leg). The semifinals of the Champions 2020-21 are Real Madrid-Chelsea and PSG-Manchester City.
