Pellegrini: ‘We won the game behind’

Manuel Pellegrini, Real Betis coach, highlighted the good defensive work of his entire team and the patience his players knew how to have once again to end up prevailing in a close clash against Cádiz. “We had talked about it during the week. I think we won the game behind. Concentration was key, not being careless. The team was very mature in being patient. It costs a lot to find spaces in the defense of Cádiz ”, said the Betic coach after the Carranza game.

“One important thing has been that the entire campus has been involved. One as a technician makes the changes with more confidence. I’m happy for Juanmi. Also by Rodri or Tello. They all entered well. You had to be more precise in the last meters. In the last minutes we needed to have cool people. To find the spaces, and the goal arrived ”, has indicated Pellegrini

“The statistics reflect patience, keep looking. Not in the worst moments that we received so many goals did we change the idea. Patience also has to be backed up with defensive security. I think we won the game behind giving security to the attackers. A competitive mindset has set in. Two or three balls decide the results. The team is more mature, more compact, more aware of what it has to do to be more competitive ”, commented Pellegrini.

Regarding Betis’ situation in the table, with 39 points and provisionally sixth, Pellegrini said that “we have a next match against Alavés. We have managed to deduct points with teams from above. We are going to continue fighting until the end and see how far it allows us to go ”.
