The Canarian Pedro Rodríguez, winger of Roma, celebrated this Thursday the victory by 1-2 of his team in the Ajax field in the quarterfinals (first leg) of the Europa League and assured that he is returning with “strength” after a season slowed down by physical problems.
“I feel fine, I had some injuries that stopped me, but now I’m coming back strong. We have to play together and I feel comfortable with the team,” said Pedro at the end of the Amsterdam match in statements to Italian television Sky Sport.
Pedro, 33, has played 32 games and scored five goals in his first season at Roma after his successful career with Barcelona and Chelsea.
We are playing well in Europe but the return will be difficult
“We are playing well in Europe, we have to continue with this mentality. We know that the return leg will be difficult,” said the Canary in Italian when commenting on the tie against Ajax.
Seventh and separated by seven points from the Serie A Champions League zone, Roma is the only Italian team still alive in Europe and kept the Europa League as the main objective of the course.
Serie A is as difficult as in Spain or England
“Serie A surprised me, because of the level of all the teams. It is a difficult league like Spain or England. We must continue like this and think about Sunday (against Bologna),” he said when analyzing his new Italian stage.
