Oblak, sixth best goalkeeper of the decade

If on Tuesday the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) appointed Diego Simeone best coach of the decade, this Thursday the list of the 20 best goalkeepers of the period between 2011 and 2020 has been published.

And there appears the goalkeeper of Atlético de Madrid, Jan Oblak, which is in sixth position with 85 points. The first is Manuel Neuer, Bayern and the German team with 183 points, second Buffon (148), third Courtois (130), fourth Cries (96) and fifth Keylor Navas (93).

The IFFHS has explained its scoring method to develop this ranking: “The TOP 20 of each annual ranking of each category in question was taken into consideration and points were assigned to each place. So the first classified received 20 points, the second 19 points, the third 18 points … And 1 point for the twentieth place. If the annual ranking is less than 20, no points are awarded for vacant places. The sum of the points of the individual years provides a world ranking for the period 2011-2020 ”.
