Naomi Osaka’s sister retires at the age of 24

Mari osaka, older sister of the No. 2 in the world Naomi osaka, has announced that he is retiring from tennis at the age of 24, saying that he had taken “a journey” that he “had not enjoyed.”

The Japanese ranked 340th in the world in the WTA, and the best ranking of her career came in 2018 with a 280th place in 2018.

Mari Osaka last participated in a singles tournament in January, at the Rome (Georgia, USA).

She was paired with her 18-month-old sister Naomi in doubles at the 2017 Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

“I am retiring from tennis,” wrote Mari Osaka in Instagram.

“It was a journey that I did not enjoy in the end, but I am grateful for all the memories and support that I have earned and received over the years through sport,” she said.

“I’m moving on now, so you can look forward to some fun new projects in the future,” he added.
