The Malaga and Tenerife tied to one at the La Rosaleda stadium, a result that slows down their aspirations to get closer to the fight to compete in the promotion phase to LaLiga Santander.
In addition, the game was surrounded by controversy, as the goal of the Tenerife team’s midfielder Ramón Folch, with whom he achieved 1-1, arrived after an alleged previous foul against goalkeeper Juan Soriano, but the referee did not consider it after consultation with the VAR.
The start of the game was impetuous by both teams, with tickets on the wings and with occasions, one by Malaga and the other by Tenerife, who failed to connect their forwards, especially a very clear visitor
The confrontation did not decrease in intensity and had a great rhythm, so this level invited anyone to open the scoring and it was Malaga in a play on the right with Jairo’s center that midfielder Luis Muñoz took advantage of to define good before the goalkeeper Dani Hernandez.
Tenerife did not accuse the blow and insisted against the rival goal with a Zarfino’s shot that ended up crashed on the crossbar four minutes after the Malaguista goal.
The Andalusian team defended firmly and forcefully the loot obtained and sought in some quick action the sentence before a Tenerife overturned in the rival area with centers and direct football that they did not find a finisher in the first half.
The game, without clear chances for both sides in the second half, thus entered a more passive state, with some sporadic actions, especially by the visitors, such as a header from the forward Fran Sol who made goalkeeper Juan Soriano intervene.
Tenerife, for their efforts, deserved something more and found it in a play starring the goalkeeper Juan Soriano and forward Folch
in which the locals protested for prior lack of the visitor when snatching the ball, which was loose and later introduced into the goal.
The VAR conceded the goal and in the final stretch of the meeting there was not much more for the score to move again.
