Lazio-Torino, postponed by Covid-19, already has a date

The Lazio-Torino match, postponed on March 2 due to a coronavirus outbreak in the Turin team, will be played on May 18 at 8:30 p.m., according to the Serie A League in an official statement.

The match will be played between the penultimate and the last day of Serie A and may be important in the fight for the Champions League, which at this time sees four teams separated by two points (Atalanta, Milan, Juventus and Naples) with Lazio, sixth, that if they win the two games they have left, they could be two points behind the Champions zone.

Lazio will play their match of the thirty-third match this Monday against Milan also forced to win to keep their European options alive.

Torino, meanwhile, is fighting to avoid relegation. Today they face Napoli in 16th place but with the same points as Benevento, penultimate and in relegation places.

Lazio-Torino was not played in March because the Turin team’s squad had registered nine cases of coronavirus infection, several of them from the English variant.

The competent Local Health Department considered it too risky to allow travel to Torino on those dates and the club got the go-ahead from Serie A to find a new date for the match.
