Lanús falls to Unión in the last minute and fails to catch up with leader Vélez

Lanús, runner-up of the South American Cup, fell 3-2 this Monday with a goal in the last minute against Union at the close of the third day of the Professional Soccer League Cup and missed the chance to reach Velez, leader of Zone B.

El Garnet was left with six points, as did Defense and Justice and Independiente, who on this day beat Patronato and Gimnasia and Esgrima La Plata, respectively.

Unión and Boca Juniors have five units.

Lanús goals were made by Nicolás Orsini and José ‘Pepe’ Sand, 40.

In Union Juan Manuel García scored a double and in added time Daniel Juárez, who had entered shortly before, made it 3-2 final.

Also this Monday Rosario Central and Godoy Cruz tied 2-2.

With this result, both were left with four points in Zone A.

In addition, the match between Atlético Tucumán and Huracán, who drew 1-1 under incessant rain, was suspended after 72 minutes due to a failure in the lighting system.

Both were looking for their first victory in the tournament.
