Javier Ribalta leaves Zenit to sign for Parma

Javier Ribalta, up to now Sporting Director of Zenit Saint Petersburg, ended his contract amicably with the entity after almost three years in charge of the Russian club, which was the one who announced his departure in a statement.

Having arrived in 2018, Zenit, under the command of Ribalta, it was able to win two Premier Leagues, the Russian Cup and Super Cup. His command has been essential for this good stage of the club, in which he has brought players like Dejan Lovren, Malcom, Marchisio, Rakitskiy or Wilmar Barrios, which have been important for the club during this stage.

Ribalta makes this decision after having reached an agreement with the Parma, where he will be General Director of Sports, which means his return to Italy, where he began to make a name for himself as one of the most outstanding scouters passing through teams such as Torino, Milan, Novara and Juventus, before making the leap to Manchester United, in the Jose Mourinho stage, and then accept the offer of being Sporting Director of Zenit de Saint Petersburg.

I am a little sad because I have spent three great years here. I don’t feel happy at all”The Spanish began by saying to the official website of Zenit. “Apart from what happened on the field, where we have won and won championship titles, I consider the way I have been treated here and how I was with the people as an achievement. I have made many new friends, they were all happy to work with me and I to do it in this club. That is the most important thing for me ”.

Ribalta, who was fired with honors from Zenit, sent a message to the fans: “Please remain the best fans in Russia and continue to support Zenit! I hope that very soon we can all celebrate our third consecutive championship ”.
