Fernando Simón, director of the Coordination Center for Health Alerts and Emergencies, appeared this Friday to break down the data on the evolution of the pandemic that the Ministry of Health published this Friday.
Simón explained that today: “We have had some outbreaks in some very specific points, and in principle they are being well controlled. This has to put us on the line of maintaining precautionary measures and transmission control. ”
The director has reported that; “We have 39 deceased with symptoms onset date of the last 7 days. It is true that notifications take a little while to arrive, but the truth is that with yesterday’s death date, only two cases have been reported. ”
“We know that in Spain there have been many more cases than those detected. Now we detect more and better. Of the suspected cases that are detected in Spain, an analysis is being made of 85% of them ”, highlighted Fernando Simón and added that:“ This is in primary care, in hospital care it is 89% ”.
Regarding the figures given by the autonomous communities
“I think that the autonomous communities, after today’s meeting, have an important commitment to correct the historical series. I think that in a few days we will have it ”
In addition Fernando Simón has also explained that since May 11, 1,062 health professionals have tested positive. Of these, the majority is concentrated in Catalonia (416), Madrid (168) and Castilla-La Mancha (152).
