Harry Kane, England captain and MVP of the match, assured that playing the final at home is “incredible” and that they had to overcome a very difficult match against Denmark.
The English will play their first European Championship final after beating Denmark in extra time. Kane was the author of the final goal, when collecting his rejection in a penalty.
“This is incredible, what a game. Much credit to Denmark. We pushed a lot and we were there when it mattered. We reacted very well and we are in the final at home. What a moment,” Kane told the British network ITV.
The English striker, who already has four goals in this European Championship, to one of the top scorer, also spoke about the penalty he shot.
“It was not the best penalty I have taken, but sometimes you miss and the ball falls next to you. Luckily that is what happened today.”
“We know it is going to be a very tough match against Italy, although we have had a great tournament so far. One more match and at home. We can’t wait.”
