Marek Hamsik is back in European football. The 33-year-old Slovak midfielder was confirmed on Monday as a new player for the Gothenburg Swedish, a team that comes from Chinese football.
Hamsik, a legend of the Naples, where he was from 2007 to 2019 being now the second highest scorer in his history despite being a midfielder, he went to Dalian Yifang Chinese now two years ago. But with the Eurocup next summer in sight, he decided on the Gothenburg to try to catch the appropriate rhythm of competition to perform in said tournament captaining Slovakia.
It so happens that the Swedish League starts in April, and Hamsik is a luxury booster for a Gothenburg which is currently far from its 90s splendor. Last season, it ranked 12th out of 16 teams in the Swedish league.
