The Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, coach of Roma, celebrated this Thursday the pass of his team to the semifinals of the Europa League, but considered that this result does not affect “in any way” his eventual permanence or departure from the capital club next summer.
“I am very satisfied. I had never reached a European semi-finals and it is a great pride for me. It is also for Roma, “said Fonseca after eliminating Ajax in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, in statements provided by the Roman team.
“It doesn’t change anything,” replied the Portuguese when asked about how this result can change his relationship with the club.
“I don’t know if I will be the coach of Roma next season, I only know that I will be the manager in the next game. The future at this time is not important. As I always say, the important thing is Roma. I’m not worried at all, ”he continued.
Roma qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League after winning the first leg 2-1 and drawing the second leg 1-1 against Ajax and in the next round they will face Manchester United, who eliminated Granada.
