Englishman Sam Bird wins in New York

The British pilot Sam bird, of Jaguar Racing, won this Sunday the second New York ePrix, the eleventh race of the Formula E World Championship, and is at the forefront of the electric car competition.

Bird won the Brooklyn street circuit from pole ahead of the New Zealander Nick cassidy (Envision Virgin Racing) and the current champion, the Portuguese Antonio Felix da Costa (DS Techeetah).

Victory places Bird at the top of the drivers’ standings with 81 points, five more than Da Costa and the dutch Robin frijns (Envision).

The World Championship continues with two races in London on July 24 and 25.
