Luka doncic he continues to earn integers for his redemption, performances that allow him to excuse his poor start to the season. Last night he achieved a Stratospheric triple-double that helped the Dallas Mavericks narrowly beat the Washington Wizards, 124-125.
Slovenian added 31 points, to which he added 12 rebounds and 20 assists on a magical night. Doncic spared no effort and played almost 40 minutes in which his team was always better with him on the court.
His last assistance, number 20, came in the final moments when found Finney-Smith alone in the corner and he scored the triple winner for the Mavs to win last night.
In front of him he had some very inspired Wizards. Russell Westbrook seemed like the old man, going up to 42 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, at the gates of another triple-double. The Washington base acted as the total leader and was unstoppable.
A similar fate ran Bradley Beal, who remains the NBA’s leading scorer after adding last night 29 points. The Wizards guard took a back seat to Russ but was also strong looking for the win.
Dallas’ victory takes on more value considering that the Mavericks they played without Kristaps Porzingis. Carlisle had to rotate, giving players like Cauley-Stein and Melli more minutes off the bench, but the gamble paid off.
An excellent third quarter for the Wizards seemed to close the match and it is that the capital, with a partial of 32-19, they were put in front without intention to look back. However, Dallas did not lower his arms and gradually went back to the end.
The Mavericks’ fourth quarter was a Carlisle’s physical display, without the intention of giving up at any time and with the goal of victory between eyebrows. The last play, with Finney-Smith’s 3-pointer, was the icing on a well-assembled cake.
The victory allows the Mavericks to equal the Los Angeles Lakers record and therefore, for now, outperform the Angelenos in the Western Conference standings. Washington, on the other hand, will have to keep fighting to enter the play-in.
