Argentine Eduardo ‘Chacho’ Coudet, accompanied by those who will be his assistants in the Celta de Vigo coaching staff, arrived after eight thirty tonight at the Peinador airport, from where he traveled to the club’s headquarters to sign his contract, which will join the Galician entity until June 2022.
The replacement for Óscar García Junyent was received at the airport by the sports director of the Vigo club, Felipe Miñambres.
The former Porto Alegre International coach, from whom he dissociated himself after payment of his termination clause, will conduct his first training session this Saturday at the A Madroa sports facilities, if he passes the coronavirus test to which he will be subjected first thing in the morning.
Coudet said that signing for Celta de Vigo is “a great challenge” in his coaching career, which will be his first experience in European football after a short but successful career in South America.
“I come with a lot of desire. I chose Celta because it is a club that I already know and it is a great challenge for me ”, he commented upon arrival at the airport.
Coudet said he was not worried “about anything” despite Celta’s delicate qualifying situation, with a single point advantage over the relegation zone, and insisted that his arrival in Spanish football is “a huge challenge.”
“I also have great hopes, I am looking forward to starting work and I hope things turn out well.”
