Definitely Kylian Mbappé will be at the disposal of Mauricio Pochettino for the first leg of the Champions League semifinals that PSG will play on Wednesday against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Parc des Princes.
The French forward retired on Saturday in the final moments of the away game against Metz (1-3) after suffering a blow to the quadriceps in his right leg. Although the affected area was bandaged and he retired with a slight limp, Pochettino assured after the game that Mbappé would be ready against City and the test practiced today has dispelled any doubts about the physical condition of the PSG star.
The examination has reassured everyone within PSG after revealing that the knee blow from center-back Habib Maïga received by Mbappé when he entered the area has not damaged the muscle and, therefore, will not prevent him from playing against City .
Marquinhos, also OK
It is not the only good news for Pochettino, who for the first time since he arrived at PSG in January will be able to have the entire squad with the exception of Juan Bernat.
Everything indicates that the central defender and captain Marquinhos will reappear against City once he has recovered from the adductor problems that have prevented him from playing the last four games since he scored on April 7 and then retired at Bayern Munich-PSG (2-3 ) of the quarterfinals (first leg) of the Champions League.
