Cartagena caresses salvation and leaves Almería without direct promotion

The Cartagena caress the stay in LaLiga SmartBank after winning 3-2 at Almeria, who has lost the direct promotion and will have to fight to make the jump to First in the playoffs.

This result makes the Majorca join mathematically to Spanish as a group promoted to the highest category.

Two goals from Ruben Castro and one of Pablo de Blasis have certified the third consecutive victory of Efesé in a clash in which the goals of Sadiq umar Y Largie Ramazani they have not prevented the defeat of Almeria.

This result in the match that opened the fortieth and third-to-last day of the championship in the Second Division leaves the black-and-white team in provisional fifteenth place with 48 points, seven above the relegation zone, while Almería, third, remains with 67 points and he can no longer reach the 75 that Mallorca has.

With the news of the presence of the public at the Cartagonova stadium 14 and a half months later – about 2,500 spectators saw Efesé for the first time in LaLiga SmartBank after being promoted from Second B last summer – a commitment began in which the locals Spurred on by this support from the stands and by their streak of two consecutive victories, they took the initiative from the start, although without generating clear danger.

In the 9th minute, a goal was annulled to the visitor Ramazani for offside and, surpassing that dominance of Luis Carrión’s in the opening bars and already without Álex Gallar on the field -the Cartagena winger was injured and gave his place to Nacho Gil-, the painting directed by Joan Francesc Ferrer “Rubi” took over the situation.

Raúl Navas cleared Sadiq’s shot on the goal line, although he was also in an advanced position, in the 32nd minute, and, immediately afterwards, it was Morlanes who did not need his header after a corner kick.

Already in the final stretch of the first half came the goals. Rubén Castro, with a great shot from the first and after a header from De Blasis after a band service, made it 1-0, which brought the delirium to the stands showing the fans their desire to sing a goal so long after and chanting the name of the veteran Gran Canaria striker.

The joy did not last long, because even before the break Sadiq tied after a corner that he forced himself forcing Marc Martínez to clear. From a set piece and after a first touch from Samu Costa, the Nigerian hit the mark.

In the resumption the offensive vocation was maintained and in just a minute and a half Rubén Castro saw the door again taking advantage of a loose ball in the area in the face of the lack of forcefulness of the Andalusian defense to achieve his nineteenth goal in the championship, the same ones that he has Sadiq. Ahead of both are only Raúl de Tomás, from Espanyol, with 22; and the Serbian Uros Djurdjevic, from Sporting de Gijón, with 21.

As had happened before, Efesé’s advantage was short-lived and just seven minutes later Almería tied. Raúl Navas committed a penalty on the always dangerous Sadiq and from 11 meters Ramazani scored.

Again with a tie, the two teams sought the winning goal in an intense and exciting clash.

Makaridze was providential for his team after a header from Aburjania and a shot from an active and incisive De Blasis and Marc Martínez intervened in a Sadiq raid and saw a free kick by Lazo narrowly missed.

The clash could have fallen from either side, but another penalty, this one indicated by Javier Iglesias Villanueva at the request of the VAR in favor of the home team, made the three points stay in Cartagena. Makaridze blocked De Blasis and the Argentine was in charge of transforming the maximum penalty in the 83rd minute.

There were seven more than the five that were added to the 90, but those of Carrión knew how to contain the rival attacks to almost certify their salvation.
