Mikel Arteta, coach of the Arsenal, refused to give clues about the future of Martin Odegaard, but assured that the Norwegian is “very happy” in the English team.
The playmaker, who has returned to Arsenal After playing with his national team, he is on loan until June 30, the date on which he will have to return to the Real Madrid.
Asked Arteta about the future of Odegaard, who has become a regular starter in his lineups, the Spanish coach said he talks to him every day and that he seems to be very happy.
“Our contract with him is until the end of the season, but we have to make him play, develop and be as happy as he can,” Arteta said at a press conference.
“The team will reflect it with better performances, better results and at the end of the season we will see and talk about this. I talk to him every day, I see his face, his body language and he seems to be very happy here,” he added.
The Norwegian does not have a clause by which Arsenal can sign him when his loan ends, so they would have to sit down to negotiate an extension of it or a definitive incorporation to the Gunner team.
