Areso returns Osasuna free from Athletic with a five-year contract

“I am very excited, very happy. The truth is that I can’t wait to put on that red shirt with El Sadar full, I really want to. The return home is exciting. From the day I left I was one more Osasunist. I have celebrated every goal, every Sunday ”.

Jesús Areso returns to Osasuna four years after leaving the rojillo club to sign for Athletic. The right-back has reached an agreement, now official, with the Navarrese club for five seasons with a buyout clause of 12 million euros. His return home takes place without having officially made his debut with the Bilbao entity’s first team.

“It has been a tough year for me, but we were all aware of the payoff I had this year. The only thing I want is to wear the red shirt and show in green what I am capable of. I feel very identified with my land, with colors, with Osasuna. I feel that Navarrese claw. I really want to run that band from El Sadar ”, Areso himself says in a video published by the rojillo club itself.

Osasuna makes it clear, for his part, that “he wants to express his satisfaction for the return of Jesús Areso to his home. In addition thanks the footballer for the firm commitment shown to the club’s project”.

Shortly before confirming the second signing of Osasuna for the next campaign, the first was that of Kike García from Eibar, Areso took advantage of social networks to say goodbye to Athletic. “I have decided to accept a new sporting challenge. I want to thank Athletic Club for the trust placed in me over the last four years and wish them every success in their future sporting challenges.. I will never forget the people who have been concerned about my sports and personal development. Goodbye, thank you very much ”.

Areso, who did the preseason under Garitano’s orders, refused to accept the renewal offer offered by Athletic last summer, so the club decided that he should not compete with Bilbao Athletic during the season that just ended. . The Navarrese leaves Lezama having disputed 7
9 games with the subsidiary rojiblanco.
