Alcorcón and CD Tenerife tied in Santo Domingo a duel with few occasions, in which both, with the distribution of points, considerably reduce their options of entering the promotion.
After the victory of Fuenlabrada in Cádiz and the victory of Almería over Rayo, both Alcorcón and Tenerife had no choice but to jump onto the pitch with the obligation to win so as not to reduce their respective options of reaching sixth place and playing promotion .
Fran Fernández, coach of Alcorcón, risked in his approach with a defense of three and Laure and Bellvis as long lanes to raise and lower the band doing more extreme than lateral work.
Tenerife looked similar and in its tactical variant played with two forwards, Dani Gómez and Joselu, although during the first half they hardly disturbed Dani Jiménez.
The first forty-five minutes were developed above all with a lot of play in the spinal cord, more horizontal than deep, and the chances were not many, although the two there were, one per area, were clear.
Tenerife had their chance with a shot by Dani Gómez who saved the goalkeeper Javi Castro from the goal and Alcorcón had his after a failure by his rival, which allowed Arribas to go toe-to-toe with Ortolá and his shot took him low the visiting goalkeeper.
In the second half, the forces remained level until Alcorcón, in the 70th minute, brought the scare to Tenerife’s goal with two very dangerous actions. The first with a shot by Pomares that was cleared by Ortolá and the other with a shot at the half turn that caught the keeper under.
The Canarian team sparked as a result of that action and with six minutes to go Padilla was able to score with a shot inside the area that Bellvis took to the corner near the goal line.
With the tie, Alcorcón has 54 points to four from sixth place and Tenerife, with 55, to two, with two days to go to finish the championship.
