Osasuna has reached an agreement in principle with Deportivo Maldonado for the loan of forward Jonathan Calleri for the 2020-2021 season.
The incorporation of the Argentine striker is at the expense of the medical examination, Osasuna informs on its website.
Calleri (1993, Buenos Aires) began his career as a footballer at Miter, before signing for All Boys, with whom he reached professional football.
His good work led him to sign for one of Argentina’s greats, Boca Juniors, with whom he scored 16 goals.
Deportivo Maldonado from Uruguay then took over his rights and, since then, the footballer has been loaned to different clubs. After playing for Sao Paulo, he landed in the Premier League at West Ham.
At the conclusion of his experience in England, he began a new stage in the First Division of Spanish football. First it was in Las Palmas, where he scored 9 goals; later in Alavés, where he did 11; and finally at Espanyol, where he scored 5 goals in all competitions in a difficult season for the Perica entity.
Now, Calleri comes to Osasuna to reinforce his lead after the serious injury of his compatriot Chimy Ávila.
