A man fakes his own kidnapping to avoid going to work

The Coolidge Police, Arizona (United States), reported the arrest of a 19-year-old after this faked his own kidnapping to have an excuse not to go to work.

Arizona authorities received an emergency call about a young man lying on the shoulder with his hands tied behind his back. Later the patrol traveled to the place and confirmed a boy who seemed to have been tied up and abandoned on a road.

The victim, named Brandon Soules, reportedly told police that he had been abducted by two masked men. But the reality was very different.

“He informed us that they hit him on the head and put him in a car in front of his house,” explained a police official.

The young man told the authorities that his kidnappers were after money that his father had hidden in the city.

However, investigations by the police determined that the story was not real and that everything was fake. “After showing you all the information, admitted that he fabricated the story because I didn’t want to go to work, ”the authorities explained.

Police had to post the story on Facebook to inform Coolidge residents that there were no kidnappings and no hooded kidnappers.
