The scare they took in Belgium on Saturday during a friendly between the Zulte Waregem and the KAA Gent. In a game action, the Zulte Waregem goalkeeper, Sammy Bossut, collided head-on in the second half of the match against rival striker Jordan Botaka and collapsed.
The 34-year-old Belgian goalkeeper suffered a concussion and a skull fracture as a result of the collision and had to be rushed to the University Hospital in Ghent. Later, the club made a statement explaining, in addition to that, that it will inform as soon as more details are available.
Zulte Waregem ended up prevailing in the ‘bolus’ at home 2-1, but the team’s coach, Francky Dury, is especially concerned about Bossut, a former international with enormous weight in the team: he has played more than 400 meetings with the club since 2006, according to De Telegraaf.
