The Arsenal
from
Sarandi Argentine defeated 3-1 at Bolivar Bolivian and was left with the first position of Group C and the classification to the round of 16 of the Cup
South American, to be benefited by the fall of the Brazilian Ceará before the Bolivian Jorge Wilstermann.

Two goals from Lucas Albertengo and one from Bruno Sepúlveda sealed the victory of the local team against a rival who cut through Jairo Quinteros for a team that had Vladimir Soria as interim coach, after the departure of Spanish José Ignacio ‘Natxo’ González.

After this result, Arsenal, champions of the 2007 edition, made sure to return to play a round of 16 after seven years under the guidance of coach Sergio Rondina. Arsenal, who had not played since May 9 after being left out of the final stages of the local Professional Soccer League Cup, managed to crown this semester with this award.

Lucas Albertengo was the main protagonist of the game because in the 14th minute he was in charge of opening the score after stopping the ball with his chest and then finishing with a low shot that left goalkeeper Rúben Cordano without options. Before the break, the one in charge of extending the lead in the scoreboard was Bruno Sepúlveda, who headed in a cross from the experienced winger Emiliano Papa.

At the resumption of the game, more precisely in the 46th minute, Albertengo appeared again to connect a cross and leave the effort of Cordano sterile, who took the ball from inside the goal. The Bolivian team’s discount came in the 64th minute, with a head blow from Jairo Quinteros that got into the upper right corner of goalkeeper Alejandro Medina.

With the triumph of Jorge Wilstermann against Ceará and this victory of Arsenal against Bolívar, it was the Argentine team that qualified for the round of 16 in this Group C of the South American Cup.

After this elimination, Bolívar will focus on the Bolivian tournament that has him as one of the three leaders with 16 points along with The Strongest and Nacional Potosí.
