1-2: Atlético Minerio, co-leader with Palmeiras

The Athletic Mineiro won this Saturday with a comeback to Corinthians (1-2) and provisionally equaled Palmeiras as the leader of the Brazilian league during the 12th round of the championship. After the victory, Atlético Mineiro is in second place in the standings with 25 points, the same as Palmeiras, which this Sunday will seek to regain the lead alone in the match against Atlético de Goiás.

Corinthians opened the scoring with a goal from forward Gustavo Mosquito, but the Minas Gerais team managed to win the game thanks to a ‘double’ by Hulk in the second half.

In the first match of the day, Sao Paulo lost at home to Fortaleza (0-1), a team that has emerged as one of the great surprises of the beginning of the season. Robson scored in favor of ‘Leao’ and allowed the third consecutive victory of the Ceará team during a match that had to be interrupted for a few minutes after a seizure by the Sao Paulo masseur, who had to be removed from the foot of the field by the ambulance.

While waiting for Sunday’s games, Fortaleza is in third place in the standings with 24 points, while Sao Paulo remains with 11 points, still close to the relegation zone. The São Paulo team is still not engaged in the competition and this Saturday’s defeat increases the pressure on the club’s coach, Argentine Hernán Crespo.

In another of this Saturday’s matches, Ceará beat Athletico Paranaense 1-0 with a goal from Wendson in the 53rd minute of the second half. The day will be completed with the matches between Fluminense-Gremio, Chapecoense-Cuiabá, Atlético Goianense-Palmeiras, Bahía-Flamengo, Internacional-Juventude and Bragantino-Santos. America Mineiro and Sport will meet on Monday.
